"May"keup Madness Day 10 - Past Era

Hi everyone, here I am still working on catching up. I still have two more posts to write tonight after this one. I had a hard time choosing which era I wanted to recreate a look from. I wanted to do the 50s but then I didn't really want to be taking pictures of 50s makeup and nowadays hair lol. Then I thought maybe the 80s but I wasn't sure I wanted to do my hair for that either. Can't you tell I'm hair lazy? So finally I decided to do the 90s but then the more I looked at inspiration the more I noticed the makeup wasn't anything too exciting. Then I realized that's okay though because the past few looks I've done are a lot and it would be a nice balance to do something pretty natural. I also really wanted to use my new Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's Palette! Here's how I created my version of a 90s look:

Eyes:
Step 1: Prime - Urban Decay Primer Potion
Step 2: Eye Base - MAC Paint Pot - Painterly - on the whole lid, inner corner, and lower lashline
Step 3: Shadow - Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's Palette - Fresco - as a transition and along the inner 2/3 of the lower lashline
Step 4: Shadow - Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's Palette -Truffle - in the outer v and along the outer 1/3 of the lower lashline
Step 5: Shadow - Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's Palette -Sparkling Dew & Vanilla Nuts mixed - on the lid and inner corner
Step 6: Shadow - MAC Blanc Type - as a brow highlight
Step 7: Liner - Makeup Geek Eyeshadow - Corrupt - along the upper lashline
Step 8: Liner - Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner - Twice Baked - in the waterline and to tightline
Step 9: Mascara - Make Up For Ever - Smoky Extravagant - on the upper and lower lashes
Step 10: Lashes - Eylure Individual Lashes
Step 11: Brows - MAC Brun
Step 12: Brows - NYX Control Freak Clear Brow Gel

Face:
Step 13: Foundation - Revlon Nearly Naked - Ivory
Step 14: Concealer - Maybelline Fit Me - Fair
Step 15: Powder - Revlon Nearly Naked - Fair
Step 16: Bronzer - Tarte Amazonian Clay Park Avenue Princess Bronzer
Step 17: Blush - Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush - Exposed
Step 18: Lips - Jordana Easy Liner for Lips - Rock n Rose - to line and fill the lips
Step 19: Lips - Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural - N9

I hope you all like my version of a 90s makeup look. It's just a really pretty natural look that I could see myself wearing anytime. The best thing about the eye look is that you could pair pretty much any combination of blush and lip color! Have fun recreating this look if you do. Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing day!

"May"keup Madness Day 9 - Cool Toned

Hi everyone, still playing catch up on the last few days of blog posts. The look for day 9 is cool toned. When I think of cool tones I think of grays and blues so naturally that's what I chose. Here's how I created this look:

Step 1: Prime - Urban Decay Primer Potion
Step 2: Eye Base - Jordana 12HR Made to Last - Continuous Almond - from crease to brow
Step 3: Eye Base - Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoo - Tough as Taupe - from lashline to crease
Step 4: Eye Base - Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoo - Electric Blue - along the lower lashline
Step 5: Shadow - Urban Decay Naked 2 - Tease - as a transition
Step 6: Shadow - Jane Cosmetics single eyeshadow - Stone - on the lid
Step 7: Shadow - Jane Cosmetics single eyeshadow - Jasmine - on the inner corner
Step 8: Shadow - Stila In the Garden - Freesia - along the lower lashline
Step 9: Shadow - MAC Blanc Type - as a brow highlight
Step 10: Liner - Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner - Perversion - to tightline
Step 11: Liner - Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner - Binge - in the waterline
Step 12: Liner - Essence Gel Eyeliner - Midnight in Paris - on the upper lashline
Step 13: Mascara - Make Up For Ever - Smoky Extravagant - on upper and lower lashes
Step 14: Lashes - Eylure Katy Perry Cool Kitty
Step 15: Brows - Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow - Medium Brown
Step 16: Brows - NYX Clear Brow Gel

The Jane shadow in Stone was kind of weird. I'm sure you can tell in the picture with my eye closed that the color is a bit patchy near the crease. It looked fine in real life though. I hope you all like this look and have fun recreating it. Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific day!

"May"keup Madness Day 8 - Intense & Smoky

I have seriously been slacking on posting my looks these past few days. The look for day 8 is intense & smoky. I wanted to use the L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Glistening Garnet because I haven't used it since I bought it a couple weeks ago. Here's how I created this look:

Eyes:
Step 1: Prime - Urban Decay Primer Potion
Step 2: Eye Base - MAC Paint Pot - Painterly - from crease to brow
Step 3: Eye Base - Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoo - Inked in Pink - on the lid, inner corner, and lower lashline
Step 4: Shadow - Lorac Unzipped - Unconditional - as a transition
Step 5: Shadow - Lorac Unzipped -Unbridled - in the outer v, crease, and inner 2/3 of the lower lashline

Step 10: Liner - L'Oreal Lacquer Liner - Blackest Black - along the upper lashline
Step 11: Mascara - Make Up For Ever - Smoky Extravagant - on the upper and lower lashes
Step 12: Lashes - Ardell Demi Wispies
Step 13: Brows - Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow - Medium Brown
Step 14: Brows - NYX Control Freak Clear Brow Gel

Face:
Step 15: Foundation - NARS Sheer Glow - Mont Blanc
Step 16: Concealer - Maybelline Fit Me - Fair
Step 17: Powder - Coty Airspun - Translucent
Step 18: Contour - NYX HD Blush - Taupe
Step 19: Blush, Bronzer, and Highlight - Urban Decay Flushed (original, I have a sample card of this I used for the first time and I really like it)

"May"keup Madness Day 7 - Graphic Liner

Hi everyone! Today is day 7 of my "May"keup Madness challenge and the theme today is graphic liner! I have never done graphic liner before so I was kind of lost as to what to do and a little nervous as to whether it would turn out. I think what I created is pretty neat looking with the gold accent. Here's how I created this look:

Step 1: Prime - Urban Decay Primer Potion
Step 2: Eye Base - MAC Paint Pot - Painterly - from lashline to brow and along lower lashline
Step 3: Shadow - Urban Decay Naked Basics - W.O.S. - as a brow highlight
Step 4: Shadow - Urban Decay Naked Basics - Naked 2 - as a transition and along lower lashline
Step 5: Shadow - Urban Decay Naked Basics - Faint - in the outer v, to deepen the crease, and on the outer 1/3 of the lower lashline
Step 6: Shadow - Urban Decay Naked Basics - Venus - on the lid and inner corner
Step 7: Liner - Jane Cosmetics Eyeliner - Black - to tightline and in the waterline
Step 8: Liner - L'Oreal Lacquer Liner - Blackest Black - to create the graphic wings on the upper and lower lashline
Step 9: Liner - Jane Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner - 14kt Gold - to accent the wings
Step 10: Mascara - Make Up For Ever - Smoky Extravagant - on the upper and lower lashes
Step 11: Lashes - Ardell 402
Step 12: Brows - Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow - Medium Brown
Step 13: Brows - NYX Control Freak Clear Brow Gel

This was definitely hard for me to do but I think it turned out pretty good for my first time doing graphic liner. I love the gold accent too! I hope you all really like the look and have fun recreating it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

"May"keup Madness Day 6 - Ocean Inspired

Hi everyone! Today is day 6 of my "May"keup Madness challenge! The theme for today is ocean inspired. I was inspired by tropical oceans instead of a deep blue ocean. I really like the way this look turned out and I hope you do too! Here's how I created the look:

Step 7: Shadow - Makeup Geek - Peacock - in the crease

Step 9: Shadow - Urban Decay Electric - Fringe - in the outer v and outer 1/2 lower lashline

Step 14: Liner - Jordana Cat Eye Liner - Caribbean - inner 2/3 of the upper lashline

Hi everyone! Today is day 2 of my "May"keup Madness challenge! Today's look is all matte and I used my recently purchased Tarte Tartelette palette! I definitely knew I wanted to do something with the purple shades. The hardest part of an all matte look for me is that I can't use a bright shimmery shadow in my inner corner lol. I'm not sure I love how this look turned out, it seems a little patchy. =( Here's how I created today's look:

Candied Violet Eye - Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

Hi everyone! Today I did an eye look using the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I wanted to focus the look around the shade Candied Violet since it is so pretty. I had such a hard time doing this look though. I was only able to get one eye done and had to immediately remove it after I took the pictures. I tried a different mascara on my top lashes and my eye started turning red and watering profusely. When I used the mascara on my bottom lashes it was fine so I'm not sure what's going on. Anyway, here are the details on how I completed this look.

Step 1: Apply eyelid primer. I used e.l.f. eyelid primer.
Step 2: Apply purple base to the mobile part of the lid. I used the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Painted Purple.
Step 3: Apply White Chocolate from the crease to the brow to help with blending.
Step 4: Blend Milk Chocolate into the crease and pull it up toward the brow as a transition color.
Step 5: Wet a synthetic shadow brush and apply Candied Violet to the lid.
Step 6: Blend a mixture of Triple Fudge and Cherry Cordial into the outer corner.
Step 7: Lightly blend Cherry Cordial into the crease to deepen.
Step 8: Using a denser brush, apply White Chocolate as a brow highlight.
Step 9: Apply a mixture of Triple Fudge and Cherry Cordial to the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line.
Step 10: Put Cherry Cordial on the other 2/3 of the lower lash line.
Step 11: Highlight the inner corner with Champagne Truffle.

Next apply liner, mascara, and lashes (optional.) For the upper lash line I used the Physicians Formula Eye Booster in Ultra Black. To tightline and for the water line I used Urban Decay's 24/7 liner in Perversion. The mascara I used was Mary Kay Lash Love and the lashes are Red Cherry #43. My brow is the Anastasia Dip Brow in Medium Brown.

This look turned out really pretty and I wish I could have done it on both eyes. My eye is still hurting from that mascara. It's so strange that I can use it on my lower lashes and not my top ones. Lesson learned. I hope you really like this look! I still have a few other ideas to do with the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette but it will have to wait until my eye isn't freaking out anymore. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Peacock Eye - Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette

Well I fail at life. I posted pictures of this look to Instagram 3 days ago saying I would post the detail on my blog that night. Clearly that didn't happen. Life just gets in the way when you have a husband and children. I was watching some old videos in my Watch Later playlist on YouTube that I had forgotten about and Vintageortacky did a video reviewing and swatching the Vice 3 palette. In the video she had on a gorgeous eye look that she did using the Vice 3. So I took what she said she placed where and recreated it. It really turned out beautiful! Here are the details on how I achieved this look (finally):

Step 1: Apply eye primer to lid and lower lash line. I used the e.l.f. eyelid primer.
Step 2: Apply skin colored base to lid and lower lash line. I used the Jordana 12H Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil in Continuous Almond.
Step 3: Blend Undone into the crease and bring it up toward the brow as a transition color.
Step 4: Blend Defy into the crease to deepen.
Step 5: Place Heroin onto the inner and outer corners of the lid.
Step 6: Pat Brokedown onto the center of the lid blending into Heroine.
Step 7: Tap a little bit of Dragon onto Brokedown to mix the shades and make a golden olive shade.
Step 8: Lightly blend a little bit of Vanity in the crease to add a hint of purple and blend the edges of Heroine, Brokedown, and Dragon.
Step 9: Apply Bobby Dazzle to the inner corner.
Step 10: Apply brow highlight. I used MAC Blanc Type.

Step 11: Blend a tiny bit on Undone on the lower lash line to help the colors blend.
Step 12: Apply Heroine to the inner and outer thirds of the lash line.
Step 13: Blend Brokedown onto the center of the lash line.
Step 14: Add a little bit of Dragon on top of Brokedown.
Step 15: Apply liner to the upper lash line, tightline, and water line. I used Tarte's Amazonian Clay liner in Black on the upper lash line and Urban Decay's 24/7 liner in Perversion to tightline and on the waterline.
Step 16: Apply mascara to the upper and lower lashes. I used Benefit They're Real on the upper lashes and Mary Kay Lash Love on the bottom lashes.
Step 17: Apply lashes if desired. I used Ardell 402.

I hope you all like this look and definitely recreate it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
