February 2014 Ipsy Bag - The Look of Love

Hello! I got my February ipsy bag today and I am really happy with what I received this month! The theme this month is all about love and pink and girly things, of course. I really like the bag this month too! It's nice and plain outside but then the inside is all super fancy!

Such a pretty interior!

The first item I received is the Pop Beauty Plump Pout Mini in Peony Petal. I kind of wish the color was more like the one in the picture in my glam room which is a more muted rosey mauve color. The Pop Beauty website says this gloss "combines the high-shine of a lacquered gloss with the long wear of a stain." I don't think it does much for staining.

Sample size: 4g, value: ~$7.50 | Full size: 8.5g, price: $16

I really like this color. It doesn't end up looking this bright on the lips either. For a plumping gloss I kind of expected it to tingle or something but it just feels like a normal gloss. I actually prefer gloss to be sort of sticky that way I know it's not going all over the place. This is a thinner more slippery gloss.

The second item I received is the City Color Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon. This is a really pretty peachy pink color. I love that it's matte because I don't really like blushes with too much shimmer or sheen. The City Color website says "this silky smooth, highly pigmented matte blush compliments and blends evenly with your skin's natural glow."

Full size price: $2.99

The blush is really smooth and pigmented. I haven't tested how well it wears yet but it would be great if it wears nicely because they are so affordable. The only drawback is having to buy them online. Luckily for me I don't have any blushes that are similar to this.

The third item I received is the Tini Beauty Eyetini Cordial Cream Shadow + Base in Spiced Rum. I really love this color. I would have been happy with any of them though. This is my first time ever using a liquid/cream shadow like this. I have found it easiest to apply the product to my finger or a brush then apply it to my lid that way I have better control over where the product goes and the make sure the application is even.

Full size price: $18

I don't think this has enough coverage to be worn on its own. Once you blend it out on the lid it's just a sheer wash, I prefer topping it with a shadow. The Tini Beauty website says this "revolutionary formula glides on and sets to a transfer-resistant finish that doubles as a wear-extending base under powder shadow."

The fourth item I received is the Zoya polish in Odette. I love getting Zoya polish in my ipsy bag and I am really happy that I got this shade instead of Dot. This is one of six shades in the new Naturel Collection for spring. Zoya's website describes this shade as "sultry orchid maroon cream."

Full size price: $9

This is two coats on a piece of tape. I really love using a piece of tape on the back of my hand to swatch a polish without having to mess up my nails.

The fifth and final product I received is the NuMe Intense Renewal Mask. This is the second product I have gotten from NuMe through ipsy. Back in May I got the finishing serum but gave it to my step-mom. I am going to give this mask a try because I have really dry ends that are prone to splitting.

It would be nice if I ended up loving this because look at that coupon code!

Sample size: 20ml, value: ~$3.28 | Full size: 177ml, price: $29.00

I was really surprised to see that the product is not a thick creamy texture but instead is sort of gel like. The NuMe website says you'll see results after the first use so we'll see. I don't have very high hopes for this just because I have never used a mask like this before.

That is all for my January 2014 Ipsy bag. The total approximate value is: $40.77 which is awesome! I am really happy with this bag. My favorite items from this bag are the Zoya polish and City Color blush. How was your bag this month? If you want to sign up for Ipsy I would appreciate you using my link http://www.ipsy.com/r/1jwu.
