Red & Blue Eye Look - Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette

Hello! This is the first look I did using the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette. I really like the idea of using Sonic and Heroine in the same look and I think it turned out pretty nice.

This is how I created the look -
Step 1: Apply eye primer. I used Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer.
Step 2: Apply a skin toned color base. I used Jordana Eyeshadow Pencil in Continuous Almond.
Step 3: Blend Downfall into the crease and toward the brow bone as a transition.
Step 4: Pat Sonic onto the lid with a damp brush.
Step 5: Apply Heroine to the outer v and blend into the crease.
Step 6: Place Bondage in between Sonic and Heroine to blend.
Step 7:Apply brow highlight. I used MAC Blanc Type.

Step 8: Put eyeliner in the waterline. I used Urban Decay Crash.
Step 9: Apply Bondage on the inner half of the lower lash line.
Step 10: Blend Heroine onto the outer half of the lower lash line to meet with the outer v.
Step 11: Apply Bobby Dazzle to the inner corner.
Step 12: Line the upper lash line. I used Physicians Formula Eye Booster Eyeliner in Ultra Black.
Step 13: Apply a light coat of mascara and your favorite false lashes. I used Eyeko Black Magic mascara and Red Cherry #43 lashes.

My brows are filled in with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Chocolate. I know they seem orange, I don't think Chocolate is a good match so I am planning on getting a new color. I hope you like this look and have fun recreating it. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Cranberry Eye Look - Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette

Today I have a look using the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette. This is actually the 5th look I have done with the palette. I plan on posting the other looks I have done with the details in the upcoming week.

I really wanted to do a look using the 3rd row of the palette. The colors are so pretty and perfect for fall. For this look I used:

Step 1: Primer - Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer (over the whole lid and lower lash line)
Step 2: Base - Jordana 12HR Eyeshadow Pencil in Continuous Almond (from lash line to brow & lower lash line)
Step 3: Base - Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk (from lash line and blended slightly into crease & along lower lash line)

Step 4: Next I ran Downfall in my crease and blended it up some to use as a transition color.
Step 5: I then took Undone and blended further toward the brow bone.
Step 6: Next I took Bondage on a wet brush and patted the color all over my lid from the lash line to the crease.
Step 7: Then I blended Alchemy into the crease and blended it out.
Step 8: I took Sonic and slightly blended out the edges of Alchemy.
Step 9: Lastly I took a tiny bit of Revolver in the outer corner.

For the lower lash line:
Step 10: I applied Sonic from inner to outer corner and blended it down.
Step 11: Next I took Alchemy and blended it on top of Sonic from inner to outer corner. I didn't take Alchemy as far down though.
Step 12: Next I applied Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Perversion to my waterline.
Step 13: Then I used Bondage to blend the liner from inner to outer corner.

Step 14: I applied a mixture of Alien and Bobby Dazzle for the inner corner.
Step 15: I used MAC Blanc Type as a brow highlight.
Step 16: I used Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Perversion to tight line and I applied it to the upper lash line.
Step 17: I applied a thin coat of mascara and put on the false lashes by Salon Perfect in Demi Wispies.

My brows are the Anastasia Dip Brow in Chocolate. Yes, I know they aren't very good. I am going to be switching to the Dark Brown pomade and getting a better brush. Brows are my biggest struggle right now.

I really hope you enjoyed this look and definitely recreate it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

May 2014 Ipsy - Fresh Picks

Today I am going to share what I received in my May 2014 Ipsy bag. This month was a lot of skin and hair care. I really prefer to get makeup in my Ipsy bag so I wasn't so excited about this bag. I love the actual bag this month. I am happy to see something really different.

The first item I received was the Pur-lisse Hydra-Balance moisturizer. It's sort of a thicker formula but it blends into the skin really well. I'm not sure I like this any better than other moisturizers I have tried. It's always nice to try a new moisturizer though because you never know when I'll find the next best thing for me skin.

Sample size: 0.5 oz, value: ~$18 | Full size: 1.7 oz, price: $55

The second item I received was the Olive Lips Refreshing Rosemary lip balm. I wasn't very excited to get another lip balm. I already have about 20 (no joke) so I will never get through more. It has an okay scent but nothing great and it's okay at moisturizing my lips.

Full size price $5.95

The third item I received was the Pacifica eyeshadow duo 2. These colors look alright in the pan and they swatch okay onto the finger. They aren't creamy and nice like higher end shadows but what can you expect.

Sample size: 0.07 oz, value: ~$3-5

The shadows don't swatch very well at all. I have yet to try them on my lids but I have a feeling they will not be very good. These would probably be best suited for someone who is new to makeup or likes a sheer wash of color.

The fourth item I received was the Avene Thermal Spring water. I wasn't sure what I would think of this product when I first saw it in my glam room then when I got my bag and saw that it is literally just water I laughed. I had my husband try it and I asked him how it felt and he said "It feels like I have water on my face." I keep hearing people saying how much they are looking forward to using it or that they actually like it and I can't help but laugh at them. People can be so naive. If I want to spray water on my face I will just buy a $1 spray bottle and fill it with water.

Sample size: 1.76 oz, value ~$3 | Full size: 10.5 oz, price: $18

Literally canned water. What a joke.I think people would spray canned air on their face if a fancy brand slapped their label on it, haha.

The fifth, and final, product I received was the Hand Ten SPF 50 sunscreen. I am not overly thrilled to get this but it will definitely be nice to use on my babies at the pool. The formula is really thin and when I first when to use it the product flew out all over my shirt lol.

Sample size: 1 oz, value: $2.17 | Full size: 6oz, price: $12.99

Overall, I am not too excited about my bag. I would just really prefer to get makeup from now on instead of all of the skin and hair care. The total value of my bag is approximately $32.12-$34.12 although I couldn't put a real value on the Pacifica eyeshadow duo because they were made for Ipsy. Hoping for a better bag next month filled with nothing but makeup! How did you like your Ipsy bag? Were you wanting more makeup or were you happy with the skin and hair care? Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

April 2014 Ipsy - Beauty Rocks

Look at me slacking on my blog lol. Today I am going to talk about my April Ipsy bag. I got my bag back around the 15th and have got to try everything out and form an opinion. Let’s get into the bag!

The theme this month was Beauty Rocks. I think the theme was based around the fact that Coachella was this month. This was definitely a better theme than some other months and I think the bag is kind of cute.

The first item I received was the Rainbow Honey nail polish in Midnight Fountain. I have never tried any polishes from this brand before so I was a little excited to try it. I have to admit I think the sample size is so tiny. It's a third of a full size. I almost feel like they should have included a full size.

Sample size: 5ml, value: ~$3 | Full size: 15ml, price: $10

This shade is pretty but nothing that wows me. It applies like a typical glitter where you have to move the pieces around on the nail to get an even look. I'm not really into nail polish right now so unfortunately I am not as excited about this as I should be.

The second product I received was the Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion. This isn't a horrible sample size considering how expensive the full size is. I have never tried any sort of microdermabrasion before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I do have dry flaky areas on my face around my nose, chin, and a few little places on my cheeks. I have used this once so far and it wasn't bad. I need to keep using it to determine whether I really like it or not. I'm pretty sure I will never purchase the full size though just because it is so expensive.

Sample size: 0.25 oz, value: $9.75 | Full size: 2 oz, price: $78

The third product I received was the Demeter Jasmine roll perfume oil. I received the salt air one back in July so I know I like the packaging of the product but I wasn't sure about the smell. It is very floral, which makes sense, and it is really nice for spring and summer. I did notice though that if I apply too much in one area it doesn't dry down and leaves an oily residue on the skin.

Full size, price: $10

The fourth product I received was the Mary Kay at Play lip gloss in Teddy Bare. I was kind of bummed when I saw that I was getting this. I was really hoping for the Starlooks lip liner. Then when I found out the options were a nude or red I figured I'd get the red (which of course I would have hated) but luckily I got the nude.

Full size, price: $10

This is a very sticky gloss (and I am a fan of sticky glosses) but it is almost too sticky. When I wear it on its own it looks too nude on my lips but when I pair it over a pink lipstick or lip liner it actually isn't bad.

The fifth, and final, product I received was the Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil in Black Velvet. I love Urban Decay eye liners so I was really happy to be getting this. The only bad thing I can say is that this is the same exact size they give as a free sample sometimes with an online purchase. All in all though I am happy to have it and use it.

Sample size: 0.8g, value: ~$15 | Full size: 1.2g, price: $20

That is all for my April Ipsy bag. The approximate total value of my bag was $47.75. Pretty cool! It was actually a decent month compared to some in the past. It is a lot better than the bag from last April as well. I definitely feel like I got my $10 worth this month and I am excited for the sneak peeks for May to start! What did you think of your April bag? Are you excited for May? I am hoping it is a lot better the last year's May bag! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
